Email from within Synapse

New server (0.0.48) and client builds (160) are now available for downloading.

Email

You can now email a patient from directly within Synapse EMR.  You have to first set your email settings ( Settings/SMTP ) and the patient's email has to be recorded in their "Personal and Contact" details.

To create an email, select the "Consults" tab, and then "Add New" selecting "Email to patient".  Later on when you print what you have written, a send email requester pops up instead of a print dialog screen.  Note that for HIPAA compliance, you should only use this for confirming appointments and other non personal data.

Popup Vitals

A number of functions are only available by using the function keys.  These are set from "Settings/Function Keys".  A new function is "Vitals", and I have this allocated to F5.  This allows you to record vital signs, and save them into the "Results/Numerical Results" tab, or to also inject the text of these results into an active consultation.

So, usually, when seeing a patient with the consult editor open, use the F5 hotkey to bring up the vitals screen, and then inject the results into the consult.
