Dear EMR Users

This is just a quick note to let you know that the Synapse EMR server is now up to version 0.0.48, and the Synapse Express EMR client build is now 160. 

New features in recent builds of Synapse EMR include

• HL7 import ( more feedback is required on this)
  
• LOINC mapping
• SkypeOut support
  
• support for Twain capture devices for grabbing images into Synapse
• direct Email support for sending email inside Synapse
• graphing of numerical data
• popup window for capturing vital signs

With new releases, often changes are made to the server database structures.  These changes are made incrementally .. but at sometime in the future we shall assume that everyone is on the same database structure.  So, it would be good if you all updated to the latest server and client builds.

To get the SkypeOut and Twain benefits, you need to have run the installer for Synapse EMR Client as this will install the windows libraries required.  Those of you using Synapse EMR before there was an installer will not have these libraries.

So, before you update to Synapse EMR client build 160, you should install the latest installer which happens to currently be http://www.synapsedirect.com/content/Downloads.aspx

Synapse EMR client build 160 requires server build 0.0.48 at http://www.synapsedirect.com/files/5/installation__setup/entry340.aspx

Note that if you update the client but not the server, you will encounter errors trying to run the new features.

Oh, and as Synapse EMR is in a process of constant evolution, we do rely on user feedback so please join and post in the forums at http://www.synapsedirect.com/forums/default.aspx
