Beta builds are new versions that have not been fully tested, or do not have their new functionality complete yet. They should not be used in a production environment without having a working version available. You can download beta versions and rename to synapse-beta.exe if you wish. Use them in the same directory as synapse.exe.
Build 164 beta 6 of synapse.exe at
http://www.compkarori.com/emr/synapse.exe is now available.
This includes the ability to have a social history ( family, tobacco, work )
template, and an assessment template. The current demo assessment
template (in the online library) does not include the IC9 codes yet. Download these from the online library.
From the assessment template you can look up IC9
codes from the lookup table and paste into the assessment field. This
assessment template includes the 20 most common diagnoses for ages up
to 25. These
diagnoses were taken from the AAFP site.
There
is also a macro facility in testing. If you have a text file called
macros.txt in the same directory as synapse.exe, it will be loaded and
used as follows:
See
http://www.compkarori.com/emr/macros.txt as an example.
So,
when you type into the consult editor "Mi", delimited with a space or
carriage return, it gets expanded on saving to "Myocardial infarction
#410.90." when you save the consult. Look at the sample macro file to
make your own. It may be easier to end the macro with a ":" so that there is no confusion as to what you are using as a macro. I use P: to expand to "PLAN:".
The Superbill now shows all the components that have been entered by templates - and the next beta will allow you to print out the superbill. The superbill is also now available as a function key.
NB: Currently superbills are reset when you change patients. This behaviour will change in the final build.
