Text Macros

Build 169 will now offer to download some personal macros to be used when typing in the consultation editor.

You can examine the macros.txt file that is downloaded into the same directory as synapse.exe.

It is probably preferable to end your macros with a colon so as not to mistakenly turn other words of yours into macros.

In the demo macros.txt file, we have i: defined as INVESTIGATION:.  So, when you type I: or i: in the consult editor, when you save the text, it gets expanded as above.  The first macro "ros:" in the sample file shows you how to create a multi-line macro ie. a macro that expands to cover multiple lines.

You can edit the macros.txt with Notepad to add or alter the demo macros.

This answers my question about how to edit the macro.txt file.  I look forward to making new macros when I return home.  The cruze is going well. We are in Jamaca today. I hope you got my data.  It should have arived yesterday.

Any one who knows a good windows based practice management program that is not too expensive or even one that is open source would be a great topic for further discussion.  This program could be linked with synapse and then complete the package.
