  • 6. Configure Synapse EMR Client to your EMR Server

By default the Synapse EMR Client is configured to automatically connect to our demonstration Synapse EMR Server hosted at SynapseDirect. SynapseDirect are able to host your own secure private Synapse EMR Server saving you the expense and technical issues with resourcing and configuring you own server.

To connect the Synapse EMR Client to your office installed Synapse EMR Server you must add a System Environment Variable to each of the computers using the Client software. This System Environment Variable synapse-port contains the machine name or i.p. address and port-number of your local Synapse EMR Server. The following picture is a snapshot of adding the System Environment Variable synapse-port through your Windows Control Panel System application:

The name of your Synapse EMR Server is indicated by myserver shown above. You can find the name of your Server computer through network neighborhood or use Control Panel, System, Computer Name upon the actual server machine which is running Synapse EMR Express.
