    1. The Chat application now only pops up if someone private messages you when it is closed.
This means you will no longer get chat appearing when other people login

    Nice. Will demo.

    Graham:

    R210B6

    1. Removes disconnect warning message.
    2. Drop down list on title changes gender again (broke when added "." to titles)
    3. Adding ticklers can now use the appt dialect.

When you add a tickler, in the date field you can now type, for example:

    • 1 week
    • 2 weeks
    • 3 months
    • 1 year

    Basically the format is :    n [ day(s) | week(s) | month(s) | year(s) ]

which is the same as the appointment dialect when moving the current date forward

     Nice.  what about n [w,m,y] ?

Is it possible to supress the popup of the chat client on startup ?  Newbies will wonder what it is.

    d w m y is also possible ... I'll add it, but it's a bit cryptic!

newbies can learn about the chat application.  Not worth my effort to supress it.

    1. Server now creates and returns pdfs to browser.

    R210B8

    1. PDFs are now created and retrieved from Synapse-server without using the browser

This release does away with using a separate webserver to view server side created PDFs.  Now, when you click on "ServerPDF" to create a printout, the text is sent to the server, a PDF is created, and then retrieved where it is stored in the local www directory.  The browser is then invoked on this local file using the local embedded web server.  This is because there were too many timing issues with using the server based web server.

For this to work, you must have ghostscript installed on the server, and gswin32c.exe must be in the system path.

You can test that by opening a dos console in your Synapse server directory and typing gswin32c to see if it is recognized or not.

For appointments, and ticklers, you can now type

      n [ d | w | m | y ]

and n by itself will be recognized as days.

Unless there are problems, these will be the final releases for both server and client.

what would have been the advantages of the server-based web server ?

    Re: Client 210 betas

Tried the PDF generating from the server. [PDF Server] button in the print consults window ... no problems.

    Requirements for me were:

The server needed ghostscript.  The bin directory of Ghostscript ( for me, C:\Program Files\gs\gs8.54\bin ) needed to be in the Windows Path variable.  See my .jpg on how to edit change the Path variable without going to the DOS prompt Wink

I generate all my referrals from the Consult Tab.  The best spot to add this functionality would be to the "Insert Text" (Diagnoses) area of the Hx tab in the consult section. :) and in the Print Medical Summary Printout from the Diagnoses Tab (which I forgot even existed !)( FYI, could you add a Send to Word button on that popup ?  :)  (as well, add the patient's pharmacy)

    Re: Client 210 betas

My idea in suppressing a diagnosis is so that the patient doesn't see it .... on requests etc., but I want to keep it as part of the medical record.

So, I would rather not suppress it in the above situations.  In "Insert Text" you can cut it out of the text after it has been inserted.

I might have to add another option for the Summary Printout

    R210B13

    1. Adds 4 default Postscript templates
    2. Warns new users to setup their default templates.

See Settings/Postscript - use the drop down menu to select the template type, and then click on "Default" to see the new default templates.

Add a name, and save by "Add New".  This template will then come up as a choice in Settings/User/PostScript/Templates.

    Re: Client 210 betas

Would anyone else like to assure me that server based PDF creation of documents is working for them before I commit this release to final?
