    R214B19 for Windows

    • Option on the Add Results applet to now import all your autofiled documents

    Instructions

    • You need to have all the patients allocated to a phcp for this to work.  If you are a solo specialist, then you need to allocate all the patients to yourself.
    • In Settings/User/Scans - set the directories for the unrecognized and recognized directories as used by Autofile
    • Synapse will then import all the files from the recognized directory, and any it can't manage, it will move back to the unrecognized directory
    • The unrecognized directory will be used for manual importing files
    • The Autofile Import button appears on the Add Result applet and is green if there are files waiting, and red if none
    • It will then wait for 5 mins after processing the files for more to appear.
    • If the file to be imported already exists in the Synapse server database, the process will halt.  You need to manually delete this file and then start again

    Re: Client 214 betas

The latest version has the facility to add bar codes to documents.

This code here added to the letter template adds a vertical bar code of the patient's nhi/ssn to the left hand of the letter

    gsave
    at 50x200
    rotate 90
    (rejoin ["*" ssnfld/text "*"])
    grestore

    Re: Client 214 betas

    R214B20 for Windows

    • The function help menu now attaches itself to the right of the main window if there is enough screen space
    • Bar code printing is enabled in the postscript templates

Since most laptops are now wide screen, this means that there is a fair bit of unused screen real estate ... so pressing the "?" will now permanently attach the function help popup to the right of the main window.  This means you don't have to remember the function keys to invoke these functions.

To include a bar code in a postscript template, enclose the word between "*" which then uses the 3of9 bar code.  See the example directly above.

To screen preview the bar code, you will need to install the free 3of9 true type font

the resizing is having some side effects ..

Anyone still using 1024x768 or are we all on 1280x1024 and higher now for screen resolution?

Should we still cater for low resolution screens?

    Re: Client 214 betas

Most new PC's are bundled with larger sized monitors therefore I presume screen resolutions are higher.

Yes, I'm sure they are all using a higher resolution.

I'm still using 1024x768 at work because I still have to use an LCD screen that's about 4-5 years old with an old Dell system circa 2001.  I should soon (hopefully) have a new system here.  All my personal stuff is 1280x800  (some ubuntu stuff) or 1280x1024 or higher.

    Re: Client 214 betas

I'd like to code for a default 1280x1024 screen ... gives me much more room to move things around.

I want to consider placing all the tables that appear above the encounter editor to the right hand side and align them vertically.

    R214B21 for Windows

    • The encounter editor has been rearranged to suit a 1280x1024 screen
    • New dropdown demographics menu in the encounter editor
    • New context menu for diagnoses in encounter editor ( unfinished )
    • New clinical guides in encounter editor ( not started )

Whoa ... slow down their partner.

What are the implications of having this size for smaller VGA devices running Synapse in reduced mode ?

I just checked and I have either all or almost all of my PCs running 1024 x 768.

I think we need to think about the implications before increasing the minimum screen resolution.

I guess they'll use GUI size 2 then.

:)  I hope that's possible.  Of course, it likely isn't as important things are going to be too small.  Yet on every patient screen for every patient at all times, will be the world's largest shortcut menus.

    Re: Client 214 betas

I use the cache table *all* the time to switch between patients.

My first iteration allowed the [?] to remove and add the right shortcut menu dynamically .. but unfortunately I struck resizing issues.

Once that is solved, it'll be back again.
