Currently, I run the synapse server from a USB hard drive, and the client from a personal storage file using the Puppy Linux 3.0.1 LiveCD. Sounds a bit backwards, but runs pretty fast on slower hardware this way. Maybe an option could be made to store ps/pdf's with the server to centralize access to them. I could probably just symlink the client's /www directory to the USB hard drive as well, but would be a bit more complex.
