Hamachi also works with Linux. There is a how-to for setting up the Linux version, and then running VNC to see the desktop.

Not that I think we should concentrate on Linux builds but ...

I've been learning about portableapps.com and it seems that linux can run off a USB drive.

So, if Synapse could work on linux, it'll probably work on a portable USB !  :) 

If you have a large enough USB drive, you could run windows off of it and thus Synapse.

So, if you were a travelling doc, you just take your USB drive and plug it into any host PC and start up Synapse in your own Windows environment.
