    Snappy Fax

So I read all of the other post regarding Snappy fax integration and got the glassy-eyed WTF look.

I have acquired SF.  Does somebody have a quick tip on setting it up with synapse.  Luckily my paractice is quite busy.  Less time to play with software setup.  Might bring in my IT dude if I have to punch in too much time with this.

    Re: Snappy Fax

On that note, with my current EHR, I use a Windows print/fax driver that basically prints to an external Hylafax server. So, from the print dialog, I can choose whether it prints to my printer or to fax. The fax driver uses the windows faxing wizard and utilizes my Outlook address book to add recipients. I will co-post this in the post about Snappyfax.

    Re: Snappy Fax

I use the inbuild windows print driver as you describe.  Rather clunky.  I thought an app like SF might improve on this and fax directly from Synapse.

Snappy Fax integrates with Synapse via custom file naming .pdfs and Watched Folders.

Essentially you save the .pdf and the name has the fax number and other details in it.  If you put it in a watched folder, Snappy Fax will send it.  Your patient must have the pharmacy information up to date.

I haven't been doing it lately but I hope to get it going again in the coming weeks.

Where does this come into play?

    Re: Snappy Fax

If you guys can wait a day or so, I will have a solution that will work both with snappyfax and hylafax.

    Re: Snappy Fax

    I can wait.

Besides faxing scripts, my main faxing load is sending my evaluation/progress/procedure notes to referring providers.

    Re: Snappy Fax

Anyone know what the naming convention for files for snappyfax is?  I no longer have it installed.

    Re: Snappy Fax

    I think it might be

    faxno_R_N.tif ( no fax facesheet )

    or

    faxno_R_Y_fax-facesheet-name.tif

and I gather postscript ( .ps ) is also supported.

    Re: Snappy Fax

     Hmm.  Shame.

Okay, then the synapse.exe client will have to convert the fax to tif first, and send that to the server.

    Re: Snappy Fax

    Here was the Syntax:

The filename should be in the form:

    RecipientName_FaxNumber_Routing_UseCoverPage_FaxTitle.tif

RecipientName: The name of the person to whom the fax is to be sent
FaxNumber: The fax number or an email address
Routing: Can be: R for regular fax, S for submit to fax server, or E for send via email
UseCoverPage: Can be Y or N (yes or no)
FaxTitle: The title for the cover page if one is used.

Note that the parts must be separated by an underscore character.
