I just got done looking at Synapse EMR Express, and I am quite surprised. I didn’t think it would have so much so soon and look so good. Drug information system with wildcard search? These are niceties I did not expect. Very simple design which let me look around better than any other first look at an EMR has in the past. I’ll study it much more since it is easy to get up on the screen. Also very fast to invoke from the desktop. This is the real thing right now, but I can't imagine what it will look like a year from now. Well, if there are any doctors out there who have never actually tried using an EMR, they have lost every last excuse. Nice work!
I installed a Synapse download from a USB drive on both my Desktop and an UMPC device in two minutes. It installed so fast and easy I thought I must have done something wrong or incomplete, but there it was ready to chart!
We are group of three doctors (Physician, Gynecologist & Surgeon) practicing in India. Our establishment name as Dhaanya HealthCare. My name is Dr. Anand, a primary care Doctor, with a practice started 8 years ago. In the early days of our practice we quickly recognized that patients were not bringing their old Rx and lab-reports, etc. to appointments due to many factors.
We were forced to record our own patient records to a (1993) then DOS based medical records application. So far I have 45,000 medical case records to date.
So I started looking for a better EMR. I have tried more than 300 EMR; every one had its pros and cons while for many the pricing was too high. I couldn't even consider implementing a costly EMR product in our small clinic and certainly couldn't burden our patients with extra fees.
To help you understand our price issues, today we charge approx $1.10 USD in consulting fees. ECG for $2.00, CXR for $2.00, ABD/KUB/PELVIC USG cost $3.00. Our goal is for everyone to receive proper and affordable medical care. The richer patients we consult donate money and medicines to the best of their ability.
I was tracking your REMR originally posted at OPENEMR.org from the day it was posted until now as Synapse EMR Express. So far the best EMR I have seen because it has almost everything — whatever any medical doctor dreams!!!! Thank you so much for your huge efforts you have taken and above all for making them free. It will a boon for many tech-savvy doctors, at least they will come to know how an EMR should be and how it can work for them. If there is anything I can do please let me know.
